Higher Education

A Region of Advanced Learning and Research

The Dayton region is rich in higher education, with two dozen accredited universities and colleges educating 120,000 students.

Business and higher education collaborate closely by developing and operating research, commercialization and internship programs that benefit both while enriching the area’s technical and commercial resources.

With a near-downtown campus and large student neighborhood, the University of Dayton is at the heart of the city’s economic and cultural life. The Catholic university consistently ranks among the nation’s most desirable private, mid-size schools. The University of Dayton Research Institute is integral to the region’s burgeoning aerospace industry.

Sinclair Community College, with a major downtown campus and satellite locations, is widely regarded as one of the most successful community colleges in the country. Degree and certificate programs range from advanced manufacturing to unmanned aerial systems.

Wright State University, the Air Force Institute of Technology, Wilberforce University, Cedarville University, Antioch Midwest and others all provide options for higher education and enhance community life.
